Educating Girls in a Supportive Environment

St Dominic's Priory College in North Adelaide was established in 1884 by the English Dominican Sisters, led by Mother Rose Columba Adams.  In its 140 year history, the College has become known for its excellence in education of girls in the Catholic Dominican faith tradition.

St Dominic’s Priory College is an independent Catholic day school of 680 students.
We are proud to educate girls from all over the world in a diverse, inclusive and inspiring learning space – united in a common respect for Catholic traditions and values. Our multi-cultural environment, coupled with a vibrant city location lends itself well to the safe and supportive school environment, which we work hard to maintain for all students and their families.
We believe our role is to gently guide international students as they learn to understand and adapt to an Australian way of life, without losing touch with their own heritage. It’s important for us that our girls feel connected to their history and sense of belonging as they grow into young adults. Over the years we have had the pleasure of welcoming international students from; China, Italy, Hong Kong, Korea and Vietnam. These girls have contributed to the rich cultural fabric of the college.
St Dominic’s Priory College is located only 2.5 kilometres north of the Central Business District of Adelaide, 20 minutes from the Adelaide Airport and 20 minutes from the picturesque beaches along our foreshore. The College is serviced by excellent bus routes and the campus features over 7 acres of facilities.
At a senior level, students will study the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) as a pathway to university or study and work options. Extensive subject selection and career counselling are offered to each of our students to ensure they are aware of their options and post-school choices.
